First I have to give props to Mark Evans for giving this blog an awesome foundation. I have huge shoes to fill now! As many of you know, I’ve known Mark for years, even from my days at Qumana and his at the National Post (it was always nice to have friends in the press). Mark and I worked together here at b5 before I took what can now be called a "brief hiatus" with blognation.
Mark is now at PlanetEye and I’m back at b5. In addition to Maple Leaf 2.0 I’m the Training Manager for b5media, which means I’m going to be helping the bloggers and channel editors do what they do (and extremely well I must add-having been both a blogger and channel editor) better.
Now, this blog. This blog takes up where I left off at blognation. Yes, covering the Canadian tech beat. Of course I’ll be commenting on other topics and issues as well. You can count on that.
I still have my personal blog, A View from the Isle, and I’ll be keeping that as well. Figure that is going to be where my Twitter updates are posted and such (btw I follow all who follow me, as long as they aren’t spammers or not in English). Probably put more of my digital photography there too.
Wondering if this blog needs a new name … dunno what do you think?
Oh and for all the Canadian companies who have been wondering why I haven’t profiled them and such … well yeah the tumult of blognation ending threw a wrench into the works on my coverage in general.
I’ll be blogging here full force come the New Year…until then, Happy Holidays!

Tris welcome back to b5!
I missed you, and I am soooo happy you are back, to make me a better blogger.
Happy new year!
Glad to see this blog will live on. I really enjoyed Mark’s take on the Canadian tech space, but I know you’ll ably fill his shoes.
As for the name…I kinda like it. It’s so very Canadian.
Congratulations Tris! Good luck with this new blog.
Siobhan
Looking forward to seeing this blog on the move again :)
