Social media marketing company Vitrue analyzes online media including blogs, micro blogs, social networking sites and photo and video sharing sites daily to determine which brands are being most talked about on the web.
Last week, they released their Vitrue 100, which lists the most social brands of 2008. It should come as no surprise that the iPhone was number one on the list. But Apple really dominates all around with the parent company #3, iPod at #7 and Mac at #16.
Entertainment and media related brands are also high on the list with CNN at #2 and Disney at #4, along with Xbox, MTV, Sony, Nintendo, PlayStation, Turner and Fox News all in the top 20. What may be a surprise is there’s only one retail brand in the top 20 with Target at #14.
