When I first started my small business, I was also working full time. I knew what I wanted, and I knew working for someone else wasn’t going to get me there. If you’re thinking about starting a small business while you’re working full time there are definitely many things you need to consider.

One of the most important things to think about is the amount of time you would be able to devote to your small business while you’re working full time. You also need to consider other things like family, or school.
When I first started my small business I tried to spend at least one hour a day working toward building my business. It was usually late at night after everyone else went to bed. I’d set my timer for one hour and that was work time.
Another thing I did was to set up a “business in a bag” so I could work on my business on the go. I had an organizer and everything I needed to work on small things for my business while I had a moment of down time, while I was on the go. I worked during any break I had, lunch time, doctors offices, or while I was waiting on my son to finish up whatever lesson or class he was taking at the time. I still have that bag (although it’s not really a bag, it’s more like an organizer), and I still take it everywhere I might have a few minutes of downtime.
I keep quite a few things in the bag, hmmm, I think I’llĀ be back with another post to tell you all the details about what I keep in my “business in a bag” and how you can set up something similar for your small business if you need to work on the go.
