New Blog For Small Business in Southeastern Wisconsin

A new blog launched yesterday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, offers to provide a dynamic news source and forum for small businesses in southeastern Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee Biz Blog is a new addition to the Milwaukee Small Business Times (SBT), published in print on a fortnightly basis and more continuously online. In the announcement of the blog launch, Steve Jagler, Executive Editor of SBT, extends a very open invitation to business people and other citizens to contribute ideas and comments on a wide range of issues. He has a big picture.

The intention here is to create a central point on the Web where southeastern Wisconsin business, nonprofit, civic and governmental leaders can communicate with each other and generate discussions that will benefit the community as a whole.

The open invitation is sensibly, in my view, qualified. There will be moderation of the comments function:

SBT reserves the right to edit the submissions and the responses before they are posted on the blog, to ensure they are appropriate.

I’ll now be on the lookout for more examples of this kind of business-focused blog within the broader media world, especially at a more local level than the WSJ.

Yes, Des. The paper commented how thier
first blog was from Australia. You have conveyed the point very well.

    Dan
Thanks. And I hope my commenting from across the ocean can help illustrate how small businesses can reach out to as big (or as localised) a market as they want, via their own blogs.

    Des,

Here I am in Milwaukee reading about the first blog post in our local paper by an Aussie, and it turns out to be you. Why I am surprised?

Keep up the great work, and keep an eye on the SBT’s here in Wisconsin… they get it!
