Today is the observation of Memorial Day. It is a time of reflection, and a time of gratitude. While we should keep our brave service men and women in our thoughts more
often, I think that it is a good thing that we take a special day to honor our fallen.
Also, it is worth noting that for many Memorial Day has become a day that honors all our ancestors and loved ones who have gone before, providing us a connection to the past, and a day on which we can take time to slow down and express our gratefulness for those who have built our nation.
I plan to lay flowers on graves and talk to my son about sacrifice, duty and loyalty. And about our country.
What will you do for Memorial Day?
