A question which I get asked a lot when I am training….the answer is yes, yes, YES!
Hubspot has just released data showing the effect on a website
They looked at data from 1,531 HubSpot customers (mostly small- and medium-sized businesses). 795 of the businesses in my sample blogged, 736 didn’t.
The data was crystal clear: Companies that blog have far better marketing results. Specifically, the average company that blogs has:
- 55% more visitors
- 97% more inbound links
- 434% more indexed pages

Now that is good news as visitors increase the chance of sales and leads and of course the effect of the links and indexed pages increases the chance of being found by potential customers. Therefore blogs are not just feeding the present sales funnel but also the prospective sales funnel.
Now there is one proviso….and that is creating great content which is not about what you want to sell but what your customers want to read about. The difference in approach is considerable, if you sell then you won’t engage. If you provide valuable content and a shareability factor to the posts…then loyalty will increase.
