Danica Patrick – Go Daddy’s Marketing Girl

Danica Patrick, known lovingly by some as the Go Daddy Girl, finished in third place in Sunday’s Indianapolis 500. That showing was the best by a female in the history of the race.

While obviously the Danica Patrick fans were happy, so was GoDaddy.com. Go Daddy is a Danica Patrick sponsor and the company reported that they received a 163% more visitors this year during the race when compared to last year’s Indianapolis 500. After the race was finished, GoDaddy.com reported a 570% spike in website visitors.

To draw visitors to GoDaddy.com, Danica Patrick used a cliffhanger commercial. After the commercial, she told viewers to go to GoDaddy.com to see what happens next. And, according to the above numbers, viewers listened.

Said Bob Parsons, the CEO of Go Daddy: “First and foremost, congratulations to Danica on her historic performance. She made us all proud today on and off the track. It was amazing to watch the response to our new commercial…visitors jumping online so quickly to see our Internet-Only version.”

Here is the Internet-Only version of the commercial:

GoDaddy.com has been a top internet property for years and it seems that their marketing has almost always resulted in home runs.

“Getting visitors to the site is what it’s all about – when people see what Go Daddy can do for them online, they become customers,” explained Parsons. “Once they experience our 24/7 personalized customer service, they tell family and friends – who then become customers, as well.”
