Good morning readers!
Every Monday I feature a Business Marketing Monday idea where I give an overview of an idea or tip to use to market your business. Today, I’m going to shake things up a bit, make it interesting. I want you to give me YOUR main marketing idea that you have used to market your product or service. Doesn’t have to be award-winning or anything. Just whatever has worked for you. Tell us about your business, provide a link and tell us how you market yourself.

I agree with the writing. I have blogs, but another thing I try to do is guest posting. It opens up new opportunities for additional audiences.
Kristen, I have found your Inkthinker Blog to be a gem of a read. You always provide useful and timely resources and a spin on current topics. BE SURE to keep up such outstanding work and pumping out good content.
Yvonne, thanks for sharing with us!
Bertie…on my way to sign up for the contest. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE competitions!
Yvonne, how long have you been writing? I am loving your site!
Thursday, your marketing routine is tried and true. “Kick the tires before you buy.” Having a website as a freelance writer definitely gives potential clients an idea of the quality and style they can expect to receive.
@Bertie – Cash is an excellent motivator. ;)
@Yvonne – right on, sister!
I recently started a business and my first marketing tool was to open up a contest on my family blog. The contest was for other people to mention my business and put a link on their own blog, and any other forums or places they frequent… and for each place I was mentioned they would receive an entry into my drawing for 75 dollars cash. It has panned out good so far.

Hi Bridget
I agree with Thursday and Kristen about an online presence.
My blog is a great marketing tool for my freelance writing business, plus I love writing it too – http://www.growyourwritingbusiness.com
My website, http://www.kristenkingfreelancing.com, has been invaluable in marketing my business. Especially when I was working full time and freelancing on the side, it was like a 24/7, fully automated marketing department that did all the work for me. Now, it continues to bring in a huge proportion of my business.
As a freelance writer, I find that the best marketing that I can do is writing. I run my own blog, which allows potential clients to get an idea of my writing style very quickly.
