I have to confess I was only vaguely aware of the blog tagging thing until over the holiday period I was tagged by Robyn.
Which meant that, if I wanted to play, I had to:
- find out what tagging is and how it works
- think up five not-known or little-known items about me to include
- tag five more people
OK, five things:
- Of my great-grandfathers, one was a transported convict, another a warder in the correctional system of the day, which may explain why I can often see both sides of an argument
- With my friend Bernie I once won a three-legged race at our primary school sports (I know because on the back of the photo I have written “me and Bernie winning the three-legged race” – clearly I learnt grammar later)
- I used to know the difference between homoousion and homoiousion and why that was theologically and politically important (you can check here and here)
- I once drove a taxi in Sydney
- To the best of my knowledge and recollection I have never won at cards
I’m tagging Yaro, Dean, Dennis, Shirley and Toby and hope they will forgive me some time soon.

What fun! The history bufff in me is intrigued by the first and third, but I enjoyed all of them :)

And on the first, one of the grandsons of the convict became a Judge of the High Court of Australia and another a Member of Parliament, although they were I believe as ignorant of the old feller’s history as most people were of similar antecedents in those days – wasn’t talked about, you see.

Forgive you? I applaud you. Interesting facts, indeed.
Have you considered writing a book with a collection of stories from your taxi driving days? I’d bet it would be a hit.
