I’m in Las Vegas for a few days attending a conference – and it is making me think about the Blog World & New Media expo coming up in September – located right here in Vegas!

The theme of the 2008 Blogworld conference is ”Executive & Entrepreneur” education.  It’s the “first and only industry-wide tradeshow, conference, and media event dedicated to promoting the dynamic industry of blogging and new media. In addition to the only industry-wide exhibition, BlogWorld features the largest blogging conference in the world including more than 50 seminars, panel discussions and keynotes from iconic personalities on the leading-edge of online technology and internet-savvy business”

The 2008 conference will feature more than 100 speakers covering all areas of the blogosphere and new media world, including:

  • Blogging
  • Podcasting
  • Social Media
  • Online Journalism
  • Special Interest Blogging (Tech, Military, Sports, Political, Pop Culture, Family & Mommy-Blogging, Religious)
  • Online Entertainment (Games, TV, Radio and Film)
  • Search Engine Marketing / Optimization
  • Monetization, Online Advertising, Affiliate Programs Paid Content

So, why should you consider attending  the conference?

  • Learn more about blogging and new technology
  • Spark ideas about uses for blogging in your business
  • Gain inspiration for re-energizing your blog
  • Share your experiences and hear about others
  • Meet new people and connect with those you only know in cyberspace
  • Have fun!

I always find conferences to be worthwhile focused learning and networking experiences – what about you? What has been your experience at conferences?

    Hi Alysia

I agree – conferences can be very inspiring!! I like to make notes of all the great ideas I get in conferences and choose one to act on as soon as I get back. I also find it’s great to pull the ideas back out and review when the initial enthusiasm starts to wane.

    Liz,
In addition to being a networking haven, I love conferences because they are so inspirational. I find that as soon as I return home from one, my writing is improved, my mind is full of ideas, and I am all that more energized in my craft. Conferences certainly cure any writer’s block that may have been lurking. Thanks for the great information on this upcoming conference!
