The Story of a Patient Windows Vista User

Peter Griffin has been patient with Windows Vista which comes after he decided to purchase a Windows based computer worth $2599 instead of going for a MacBook because he feels Windows Vista has a better value proposition — I have long decided it was better and for a very, very long time.

Anyway, Peter went through so many problems with his gadgets and drivers during his first time around with Windows Vista; but after the release of Windows Vista Service Pack 1, he started to have a cool relationship with the operating system.

In an excerpt: Since then, Microsoft has released an upgrade for Vista – Service Pack 1 – and more drivers are available. A first big test went well – I plugged in my USB hub and within a couple of minutes, Vista identified them, found the drivers and they ran.

Vista runs smoothly thanks to the surplus of memory I now have. If I do my share of the housework it will be a match made in heaven. Microsoft has had a rough year with Vista and just as it appears to be putting some of the major issues behind it, it faces comparisons with Apple’s new Mac OS Leopard.

You can read Peter’s full story here.
