Jim Boeheim Should be Fired By Syracuse

Syracuse is standing behind their basketball head coach Jim Boeheim. I think that it’s a poor decision that sends the wrong message. I believe that Jim Boeheim should be fired. And fired now.

Why?

Bernie Fine, Jim Boeheim’s assistant coach, has been charged with molesting children. And with Bernie Fine’s wife admitting to the charges, there’s little doubt that Bernie Fine is guilty.

Jim Boeheim put himself in the middle of this situation by coming out early on and supporting Bernie Fine. Jim Boeheim also bashed the credibility of the accusers. So really, Jim Boeheim is no different than Joe Paterno — who was fired by Penn State.

Jim Boeheim tried to cover up for a child molester. Whether it was intentional or not doesn’t matter. We, as a society, should do everything possible to protect our children. Firing Jim Boeheim would send a message that child molestation will bring about massive consequences to you and everyone around you.

Shame on Syracuse for siding with winning basketball games rather than doing what is right.
