Should Apple Fix the iPhone 4? http://everyjoe.com/technology/should-apple-fix-the-iphone-4/ http://everyjoe.com/technology/should-apple-fix-the-iphone-4/#comments Sun, 18 Jul 2010 02:56:49 +0000 Kori Ellis http://everyjoe.com/?p=307037 More

By now you have heard that the new iPhone can have some reception problems if you cover a certain spot on the phone with your hand. And though Apple CEO Steve Jobs denies there’s an antenna problem that needs fixed, the company is offering free protective cases to buyers of the latest iPhone.

iPhone 4

Image: Apple

Starting late next week, you can go to the Apple website and sign up for a free case. The company will allow you to choose from several case styles. All new iPhone 4 buyers through September 30 will be eligible for the a free case, and Apple will send refunds to those who already bought one of their Bumpers.

And though you might think that you shouldn’t have to cover your iPhone with a case (or a piece of duct tape), Jobs doesn’t think it’s that big of a deal.

“We’re not feeling right now that we have a giant problem we need to fix,” Jobs said. “This has been blown so out of proportion that it’s incredible.”

According to CBS News: “Jobs has said that the iPhone 4’s antenna issue isn’t widespread, with just over five out of every 1,000 (or 0.5%) complaining to Apple’s warranty service, and less than 2 percent returning the device.”

But Consumer Reports (and many others) think a long-term solution needs to be found for the antenna problem. The free bumper case isn’t exactly the fix they are looking for.

“We look forward to a long-term fix from Apple. As things currently stand, the iPhone 4 is still not one of our Recommended models,” Consumer Reports said.

Do you have a signal-loss problem with your iPhone 4? Leave a comment here and let us know what you’ve done to alleviate the issue.

Dirty Talk presented by Motorola and Mike Rowe

Motorola has asked Mike Rowe to check out their toughest phones, the Brute and the i1. The Brute is a flip phone built to military specifications – capable of withstanding extreme temperatures, shock, vibration, pressure and humidity. The i1 is just as rugged, and it’s an Android smart phone that also has push-to-talk capability and a touchscreen.  It’s the ultimate multi-tasking device, so you can balance your work life, social life and family life, all in one place.  It works hard AND smart.

Mike Rowe knows  the best people to test out these tough, durable and rugged phones.  Old friends he’s met along the way – real people, with real jobs, who do real work.  See if the Motorola phones are up for the challenge and can help get the job done out in the real world.

Phones that help you grab life by the calls.

Released on June 22, 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, Transformers: War for Cybertron is a new third-person shooter video game developed by High Moon Studios and published by Activision.

Additionally, two portable versions were released for the Nintendo DS. A game for the Wii called Transformers: Cybertron Adventures was also developed by Next Level Games. This Wii game utilizes the same characters and setting as War for Cybertron.

Transformers: War for Cybertron has been given high praise with most reviews being positive, except for some criticism about overly long missions. IGN gave the game an “Outstanding” rating at 9 out of 10 citing its “Great Presentation”, “Fun Multiplayer” and “Classy Fan Service” with a drawback of the “Repetitive Visuals.”

In case you haven’t seen it, BoneTown is an over-the-top PC game that lets you live out your fantasies – engaging in crazy sex with hot women, taking drugs, and even acting like an obnoxious jerk. The game features lots of sexual activity, crude subject matter and profane comedy. Making it a bit controversial, and a lot of fun.

BoneTown

Image: BoneTown

Launched in late 2008 by D-Dub, BoneTown was the world’s first action adventure adult video game. The free roaming PC video game allows the player to party their way through bars, house parties, trailer parks, and drug forests to unlock outrageous physical and sexual powers. And you have to love the endless parade of women you can attempt to pick up. It’s a fun game that men can really enjoy.

D-Dub also released a BoneTown MiniGame called Tiger Woods Affair Tour 2010 (NSFW!). Published by eBaum Nation, it allows the player to experience BoneTown’s Musky Thong nightclub as Woods, reliving some of the golfer’s scandals. D-Dub is now into mobile gaming too with BoneTown Booty Call, a 3D mobile gaming application featuring a few of BoneTown’s hottest chicks, lets the player hit on girls, who can decide whether to let him get lucky or not. The app, for the Android device, is being released on MiKandi, the world’s first uncensored app store.

BoneTown is currently being sold online at BoneTown.com in a box version ($39.99) and a digital download version ($34.99). The game is also available in adult stores worldwide.
