Working at Microsoft

Have you ever thought about working at Microsoft? It’s sure crossed my mind a number of times. I remembered the first time I really thought about it I was at a Microsoft TechNet event. The speakers that were sharing and talking about how to use a new version of a piece of software at the time seemed to know less about it than I did. Their speaking and presentation skills were less than desired as well. I thought to myself, “I love doing this kind of stuff and could be nailing this presentation if I stood up right now and just took over.”

I’m not sure why I never really pursued it much further other than thinking about it at future seminars and meetings. I was happy with my job at the time and wasn’t looking for a change I guess.

There’s a website Microsoft has setup called View <myWorld> where you can get a little bit of an insider’s view on what it’s like to work at Microsoft.
