Windows 7 Leaked in Torrents. As Expected.

Microsoft released to PDC attendees copies of Windows Vista successor — Windows 7. ChannelRegister is already reporting that versions of Windows 7 for both 32-bit and 64-bit applications are already available as downloads from Pirate Bay, Seedpeer, and Mininova.

Microsoft’s “pre-beta” version of its upcoming OS – Windows 7 – has already tipped up on BitTorrent sites just as the dust settles on the firm’s Professional Developers Conference.

Developers and hacks at the software giant’s event were handed copies of the operating system in Los Angeles last week.

Since then the likes of Pirate Bay, Seedpeer and Mininova have unsurprisingly started hosting both the 32-bit (2.72GB download) and 64-bit (3.36GB download) versions of the early look at Windows 7.

Seeing these applications in torrents is old news, but Microsoft not doing anything about it is new. Maybe they want people to actually download Windows 7 and like it. Sites like torrents would help them spending on DVDs while mass distributing their operating system.
