The Sony Ericsson Hermione aka The Sony Ericssion P1000. Why did Sony Ericsson codename their phone after Harry Potter’s female friend? Beats me. Maybe someone in the PR Dept loves that movie. When its gonna launch is anybody’s guess.
Can’t guarantee that this is legit (what else is new?), but MobileMag.ch dug up what a product roadmap for Orange that lists a new Sony Ericsson handset codenamed “Hermione”. Not sure if this is the long-rumored P1000 or not, but the Hermione is described as the successor to the P910 and as having tri-band GPRS/UMTS, a 262,000 color display and a two megapixel digital camera.

[...] The Sony Ericsson lawyers came a knocking on my email box today and Duncan, my CEO for Thegadgetblog.com (TGB) managed to put out the fire. The fuss was basically the insistence of the lawyers for me to take down the pictures of the mobile above. To cut the story short, Duncan finally removed the picture from the TGB post here but it seems to be still on the Engadget post. (as of 1025pm SAT. 27 Aug 2005) [...]

[...] Weblog Empire, the publisher of the Blog Herald, was also subject to a legal demand that asked that reference to the phone be removed from The Gadget Blog. Strangley the email demanded a removal of the post some 12 hours prior to the email being sent, otherwise Sony Ericsson would reserve its right to sue us. The post at The Gadget Blog refered to a post at the Weblogs Inc., owned uber-gadget blog Engadget, which itself referenced a French speaking mobile phone forum. At the time of writing both Engadget and the source site both displayed details of the phone. [...]
