The Bill E911 (Enhanced 911)

Here’s a news alert I received and I would like to share this to you. This is all about U.S. Senate passing a bill to require all VoIP service providers to offer Enhanced 911 or E11 call to subscribers; much like the Emergency 911 number.

Accordingly,

“The IP-Enabled Voice Communications and Public Safety Act (S.428) will vest the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) with the authority to mandate that all VoIP providers offer 911/E911 services to their subscribers, including new communication services as they become available.” [source]
