SEO Basics – The Title

Here’a another addition to searchengineherald’s SEO Basics. Now, I’ll be writing about one of the most important on-page SEO factor which is the “Title Tag”.

The title tag is basically what’s inside the “<title> The title tag goes here </title>”. The title tag should contain your keyword. It should not be a sentence but just a few words. There is also a belief that it is best to mention your keyword at the early part of the title instead of the last.

Example:

Keyword: “nike air jordan”

Possible titles

1) “nike air jordan – the best basketball shoes”

is better than

2) “The best basketball shoes made by Nike is nike air jordan”

Now if you are targeting a more specific keyword such as “nike air jordan photos”. Then it might also be wise to just use that keyword alone in the title.

It would not be a good idea to put 2 keywords in the title. Going back to my early post, it is best to do “1 keyword per page“.
