Portable TV, anyone?

Qualcomm is preparing to drop a device on the market the size of an iPhone which effectively works as a portable live television viewer that can go anywhere. The idea is that the device, which is called the FLO TV Personal Television, will utilize Qualcomm’s FLO TV digital television service in a handheld gadget that’s dedicated to the watching of live TV only.

This comes according to a rumor posted today at gdgt, citing an anonymous insider source who also provided them with the conceptual artwork seen here. The PTV, as it’s being nicknamed, incorporates a touchscreen, a minuscule 4GB storage capacity, stereo speakers, and a battery that will play up to 5 hours straight of live TV.

The FLO TV Personal Television hasn’t been officially announced yet, but gdgt believes it could be coming to consumers everywhere as soon as CES in January.
