I know that Nikon has an excellent array of SLR cameras in its arsenal. A lot of my friends own a Nikon and its well known for its sharp images. However that does not mean its compact cameras fall in the same category. My wife owns an old Nikon 2100 (see below) and I have officially retired that oldie since it’s been acting a bit weird on the battery side.
The Nikon COOLPIX P50 delivers easy handling and comfortable ergonomics for the budget lookers. The Nikon P50 features an 8.1 effective megapixel resolution, a 3.6x wide-angle Zoom-Nikkor lens, anda large 2.4-inch LCD monitor. The Nikon P50 boasts an optical viewfinder and Electronic Vibration Reduction to compensate for camera shake at slow shutter speeds. Program and manual exposure modes come standard with the P50, so users have creative freedom when capturing images. The P50 is powered by two AA-batteries adding to the convenience and portability of this camera.
According to Pocket-lint, this compact is a 8.1-megapixel digital compact camera with High ISO 2000 sensitivity, Face AF system, 2.4-inch LCD and 3.6x optical zoom-Nikkor lens. On the plus side, it has a good “classic” design and styling, that makes it stand among the crowd even after 5 years. They also said it has simple control layout, AA-battery power, Image quality, nice manual controls. Before you run out and grab the Nikon Coolpix P50 Camera, its been said that it has sluggish AF performance and annoying shutter lag, Optical viewfinder murky and blurred.
