The 2009-2010 NBA season begins later this month but you can get in the game today with NBA 2K10. Last year’s version of the game was the best selling, highest rated NBA video game and 2K10 is about to kick it up another notch!
First of all, the graphics have been overhauled to be more realistic and includes the Signature Style animations that are unique to the league’s hottest players.
Gamers will be able to use the My Player mode which is basically a career mode that allows players to create their ideal NBA player and follow his ups and downs from rookie days in the Summer Leagues all the way to the pros (okay, the player may not actually make it but there’s always the D-League where you can further hone your skills).
The Crew functionality allows gamers to create the ultimate squad with friends which can include players from the My Player mode or an actual NBA team. These crews can battle others online and earn bragging rights and a higher ranking on the Crew leaderboard.
Among the other incredible improvements are the new, more intuitive offensive controls that make dribbling a lot easier. Players can also pull off some crazy moves that are usually reserved for the likes of Kobe Bryant.
For those who like to focus on the defense as much as the offense, NBA 2K10 allows players to shut down teams like never before. You can shadow your opponent’s every move along with a host of other great D moves.
