Mario race, hold the karts…

In 2002 Mario speed run masters Jeff Ninneman and Jason Harmer raced each other in front of a crowd of braying, cadaverous halflings… Well… A crowd of people.

The game is of course Super Mario Bros on the NES, which Jeff and Jason have both finished in times of 5:11 and 5:09 respectively. It’s clear the two are very evenly matched as they both use the same moves and methods in their travels, with an explosive finale to what is really a very good race indeed…

This kind of thing should be done more often with other games too… Are you listening Gabe and Tycho?
