How and Why to Passcode Lock Your iPhone

Locking your phone may seem a little paranoid. But, seriously, think about all the personal information you’ve got in it. Mine, for one, has all of my bank information in it for two different banks. Any wiley thief could hack into my accounts if they got a hold of it. And some one could do some serious damages to your finances right through your iTunes account. Since iPhone users are notoriously addicted, we’re always leaving them on tables and countertops for easy access, but taking a few easy steps could prevent someone else from having that same access.

To passcode lock your phone, take these steps:

1. Go into Settings and select General

2. Select Passcode Lock

From there, all you do is pick a passcode. No big deal. Four numbers that could save you a lot of trouble in the long run. So, now when ever you want to use your phone, you’ll have to punch them in before proceeding. Yeah, it does take one extra second to get to your Apps, but what’s that one second compared to the loss of your own small fortune? Plus, you can still see all incoming texts and just slide to answer any calls. No big deal.
