This must be some sort of landmark for online video. While the history of the music industry is full of high-profile breakups, from The Beatles to the Smashing Pumpkins, Galacticast could mark online video’s first big breakup.
Galacticast, a project that epitomizes the can-do spirit and creativity of episodic web video shows, is going through a break-up. Co-creators Casey McKinnon and Rudy Jahchan, who until very recently were a long-term couple, have split up. However, Jahchan assures us the elaborate sci-fi spoof show will go on.
Maybe that’s why Rudy was on strike with the WGA. Guess they won’t be performing at the Winnies tomorrow.
I thoroughly enjoy Galacticast’s unique brand of sci-fi spoofage, and I hope Rudy continues the series while Casey finds new online video projects. In the meantime, Rudy’s in the market for hot new costars.
