I love my iPhone. I feel like it’s a really good friend that will never leave me. Except when it dies, which is often, because I text, Twitter, and Facebook like it’s going out of style. So, what then? What is the solution when you are out hanging and your best friend just goes totally blank? Automated Charging Machines (ACMs for short)!
Paul King, owner of Hercules Networks is putting these pay-by-the-charge machines on a street corner near you. He got the idea when he missed a flight due to a dead cell phone related disaster, and found a company in China that manufactures these ACMs. Charges will cost between $2 and $10, and the machines are already up in some Vegas casinos and at sixty five Six Flags amusement parks.
But Hercules is going to have some competition, because Samsung has installed similar machines, that are totally FREE, on college campuses and in airports around the country. Free is always better than cheap, but Hercules might because Hercules can offer vendor sites a profit, they may just be able to out-ACM Samsung and corner the market.
