Ever wondered how you could convert your music files to another format? The Nautilus audio convert script makes it easy for you! Just download the package of the script from the repository and install it. You could use Synaptic or apt. If you choose to install it via Synaptic, you just have to look for the package. If using apt:
$ sudo apt-get install nautilus-script-audio-convert
Once you have it installed, you just have to right-click on your file and a menu will appear to let you choose a script to run, as well as the other regular options.
Once you’ve done that, you will have another menu asking what kind of compression you would like and you will also get a box asking if you’d like to use the existing meta tags or if you would like to input your own tags. It’s actually a quick way of converting your music files.
You could use it as a script for individual files or it would open a window when you haven’t selected a file yet. Then you could drag and drop files there for conversion.
