from SamBeckett: I just installed itunes 8 over my itunes 7 on Vista.
Now whenever I plug in my ipod nano, I get a blue screen death. 3 times so far. even if it is plugged in on boot, I get a blue screen.
Before itunes 8 I never seen a blue screen with vista since it came out.
from Jaredt113: I am having same exact problem, except it is with my iPhone
from GogoGadget69: How can this be happening? Does Apple not test this with Windows Vista before they release this? I’m starting to think Apple programmers are a bunch of hacks working out a garage. First it was Windows ME and now iTunes 8. Apple, where is your QUALITY CONTROL!!!!
The comments above are three of the hundreds comments from this forum post. Windows Vista has not released any software or patches that could have interfered with iTunes 8 and Apple should have tested this beforehand. Vendors like this give Microsoft Windows Vista a bad name; although, I am happy because the comments indicate respect and recognition of the stability of Windows Vista. Instead of bashing Vista, users are going mad at Apple that they should have tested their software first.

As I have read through forums, it was suspected that some video drivers were the culprit. I’ts nice to hear that you didn’t get any problems Alisha. :)
I have a lot of commonly used software, that was running while I even installed iTunes 8 and then plugged in the iPod. I always disable unneeded settings in iTunes, so who knows why some have gotten the blue screen and others haven’t.
I’m just thankful I didn’t get the blue screen!
Good for you. What have you installed in your pc? I don’t think I would be trying that right now, I can’t afford to have my unit messed up. :)
I didn’t have a single problem with plugging in my iPod with iTunes 8 on Vista. I had downloaded it the day it came out and it worked fine.
