50 Cent: Bulletproof

Jessica Alba isn’t the only one getting into the video game-making biz. Rapper 50 Cent (pronounced “fiddy cent” for those not down with the lingo), is releasing a video game entitled “50 Cent: Bulletproof”, which is due out just in time for the holiday season. And just what is this game about exactly?

Well, according BallerStatus.net:

’50 Cent: Bulletproof’ will allow players to be in control of 50 Cent, as he gets caught in a web of corruption, double-crosses and shady deals that lead him on a bloody path through New York’s underworld.

The player recruits the help of G-Unit’s Young Buck, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo to take on the city’s most dangerous crime families, while uncovering an international conspiracy with devastating implications. The streets are watching as 50 Cent blasts his way to the truth.

Hey, as long as it’s not about dressing to impress, joining the right gangs, dating the right mamas, and how to fit into the ultra-hip ghetto community, I’m happy. Although, admittedly, that sounds far more intriguing than other game premises I’ve heard lately.

Like its creator, however, “Bulletproof” seems to be more about action than anything else. The rapper states: “I’m out to destroy the competition and my video game is no different. I plan to shake up the video game world like I did the rap world.”

He’s a man of ambition, gotta grant him that.

Fans of 50 Cent’s music will be delighted to learn that the game comes with an exclusive DVD entitled “No Fear, No Mercy Live”, which “will include never-before-seen concert performance of 50′s European tour, which was recorded from September 14, 2003 to October 9, 2003.”

The game also includes more of 50 Cent’s music, and freestyle rhymes that the players can “mix in the game’s music lab.”

Well, that alone is enough to catch my attention. Add in a microphone and we’re set. (My neighbors haven’t heard me rap yet, and boy are they missing out).

“50 Cent: Bulletproof” will be hitting stores this December.

[...] No doubt in my mind that there will be growth in this area, and it doesn’t surprise me that artists like 50 Cent are getting into the video game biz. Hell, even Brangelina are trying to get their message of love and charity through video game development. People think video games and see dollar signs (or euros, or pounds, or yens …). [...]
