She proved she could sing while spending most of her days in green tights and pointy shoes in the movie Elf. She showed off her dramatic abilities with Mark Wahlberg in The Happening. And she breached the generation gap with her performance in the series Tin Man, based on The Wizard of Oz.

Zooey Deschanel has a laid back, somewhat snarky approach to fame with a retro sense of style. Combined with the dark hair, porcelain skin, and ruby red lips and she could be a modern day Snow White (albeit one who is smart enough not to eat the apple).
