Yankees Hire Jim Hendry
Fans of the New York Yankees have made Jim Hendry jokes for years. The longtime general manager of the Chicago Cubs could never replicate the success of the Yankees. But now, the joke is on the Yankees fans because the team has hired Hendry to be an assistant general manager.
According to reports, Hendry was given a multi-year contract and his job duties will mostly deal with aiding Brian Cashman, the GM of the Yankees.

Adam Kennedy Arrested for DUI
Adam Kennedy, a second baseman recently signed by the Seattle Mariners, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with DUI. The arrest came as he was driving near Newport Beach on State Route 73. According to Adam Kennedy, he was originally pulled over by the California Highway Patrol for speeding.

RIP Paul the Octopus
Paul the Octopus, who rose to fame by correctly predicted eight World Cup matches, died in his aquarium tank in Oberhausen, Germany.
Paul was 2 1/2 years old, which is apparently old for an octopus, and died of natural causes.
With the NBA season tipping off tonight and the World Series getting underway tomorrow, the sports world needs another sea creature to step with some predictions.
