Tom and Gisele’s Shotgun Wedding

When Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen said they didn’t want photographers at their wedding, they were serious! They hired some large (and armed) bodyguards who, according to People, “opened fire on some press photographers.” The body guards told a couple photogs to get lost, and then fired at least one bullet into the “rear window of an SUV and then through the front windshield.”

Looks like Tom and Gisele probably won’t have to spend their honeymoon in the clinker since it’s unlikely they will be held responsible.

Are a pair of NFL quarterbacks getting ready to take the plunge into marital bliss with their respective honeys?

FOX Sports passes along some Chicago-based dish that injured New England Patriots quarterback—no, we’re not over it, so leave us alone—Tom Brady and supermodel arm charm and bling-seller Gisele Bundchen may soon be swapping vows.

Will they honeymoon with Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson, also rumored to be interested in a walk down the aisle? According to the Chicago-Sun Times (what’s with Chicago and NFL gossip lately?), the Texas twosome was on the bright-and-shiny object prowl at a department store. Simpson, who never stops talking about her boyfriend, allegedly refers to him as her “future husband.”

And the blessings rain down from the Blog Deities as weekend reports indicate that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo remain our favorite athlete-celeb hookup. Just the other day conflicting reports emerged about the twosome’s togetherness (and we know false rumors about celebrity break-ups hardly ever happen!).

People.com reports that the two were snapped out and about prior to the ~~shotgun wedding~~ sacred nuptials of little sis Ashlee Simpson and hoodie-lovin’ Pete Wentz.

Ashlee’s Big Day served as a PDA-fest for Jess and Tony, effectively quelling rumors that they hopped on the Last Train to Splitsville earlier in the week. Or did it? Some bloggers think Simpson and her Dallas Cowboys beau were putting on a show.

Our personal wishes aren’t a secret, so we hope the kissyface routine was legit. (Apologies to Cowboys fans . . . nothing against you). Here’s to blog foddah!

Minister Comments on Eli Manning’s Big Hands at Wedding Ceremony

New York Giants QB and Super Bowl Lucky Duck Eli Manning and his longtime sweetie Abby McGrew got married at a sunset beachside ceremony in Mexico on Saturday. And here we thought those pictures of a less-than-100%-sober Manning that hit the blogosphere would have given her cold feet.

Manning proposed last March in Hoboken, NJ, which raises the question, “Why would a guy ask for his honey’s hand in marriage in Hoboken?” . . . a worthy query that has yet to be answered.

But we digress, because we have another important question. What was the minister getting at when he observed that Eli’s hands are “quite large“? (Yes, we assume he’s implying their usefulness regarding footballs, but humor us, OK?)

No word on whether Double Stuff Oreos were served at the reception or whether brother Peyton challenged the new groom to a cookie face-off.
