Sony Pictures

In the film, “Michael Harding (Penn Badgley) returns home from military school to find his mother (Sela Ward) happily in love and living with her new boyfriend, David (Dylan Walsh). As the two men get to know each other, Michael becomes more and more suspicious of the man who is always there with a helpful hand.”

Naturally, the guy is a crazy psycho but because Michael has been in trouble in the past, no one believes him. I don’t care how many times I’ve seen this storyline used, I’m always a sucker for it. I’ve seen Disturbia at least 10 times – no joke. Looks like I’ve got my Friday night movie all planned out…

Here’s a movie that’s going to make blended families seem like a bad idea! The Stepfather opens in theaters today and, as the name suggests, the plot surrounds a family whose lives are endangered by a new man in the house.

image: Sony Pictures

In the film, Michael (Penn Badgley) comes home from military school to discover that his mom (Sela Ward) is currently shacking up with her new boyfriend, David (Dylan Walsh). Michael grows suspicious because David just seems too perfect.

Things take a dramatic turn after an elderly neighbor comments on how much he looks like a sketch of a murderer on America’s Most Wanted and then ends up dead. David’s violent side slowly begins to become apparent and it will be up to Michael to save his mother and siblings from this lunatic.

These types of movies always look cheesy to me and then I start watching them and I really get into them so, I may not run to the theater for this one, but I’m definitely going to check it out. Here’s the trailer:
