In The International, the bank in question actually resorts to murder and arm sales in an effort to remain powerful.  Owen portrays Louis Salinger, an Interpol agent who is close to bringing them to justice but whenever it seems he’s found hard evidence, his sources turn up dead.  Of course, his main assistance comes in the form of attractive Manhattan district attorney (Naomi Watts), Eleanor Whitman.  Unfortunately, someone wants them dead and their quest to uncover the truth begins to include their attempt to stay alive.

It’s a little off topic but can I just say that the more I see Clive Owen in these action movies (yes, even the lower quality ones), the more I’m convinced that he should have been chosen to play James Bond?  I’ve got nothing against Daniel Craig, who actually beat him out for the role, but Owen just felt like the natural fit.  Sorry, it just had to be said.

Anyway, I have high doubts that I will go out of my way to see this movie but it does look interesting.  Watch the trailer and decide for yourself:
