The-Dream Ending His Solo Career

Songwriter, The-Dream, is bringing his solo artist career to an end. He will be releasing just one more album on his own and then will focus solely on “producing, writing and featuring other artist albums.”

The-Dream wrote: "Love King "IS" going to be my LAST album! It is going to be my last bcuz, everybody is trying to "KILL THE DREAM! I am the ONLY one that can end my career. And thats what I’m doing."

His other two solo albums are Love/Hate and Love vs. Money.

I think that he’s probably best doing the whole song writing and producing thing. He’s had some amazing success and, while you might not be familiar with him as a solo artist, you’ve probably heard some of the big hits he’s written for others including Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body,” Jesse McCartney’s “Leavin’” and most of Mary J. Blige’s Growing Pains albums – and more.

His last album, Love King, should be released on December 8, 2009.

The-Dream Recording (Another) New Album

For the second time this year, rapper, The-Dream, is preparing to release an album. Billboard.com is reporting that the man who wrote smash hits like “Umbrella” for Rihanna is already “seven records in on a new album” which is currently being dubbed Love King. It’s tentatively slated for a December 2009 release.

When asked about it, The-Dream said: "I have to pace myself ’cause there’s so much time between here and then but the seven records I do have are timeless records. Whether they come out now or later it’s not really going to matter what kind of records they are."

Little is known about what type of music he’ll put on the album but he has said that he’s finally fulfilling his dream to cover Michael Jackson’s hit “Dirty Diana.” That should be interesting…

I recently wrote about The-Dream’s current album Love vs. Money which has been certified gold since being released in March. I was pretty impressed with it and I have no doubt that this new project is going to be equally hot.

The-Dream Album “Love vs. Money”

Have you heard the “Love vs. Money” album by The-Dream? I hate to admit it but it’s actually pretty hot. It was released on March 10, 2009 and it’s already shot to the top of the R&B/Hip Hop charts.

The album features some great collaborations with Kanye West, Mariah Carey and Lil Jon and I don’t even know how to explain it. When I was listening to it, I felt like this was a modernized version of a lot of the songs I listened to years ago. My favorite tracks were “Sweat it Out” and “Love vs. Money.”
