I am a Trekkie and I’m pretty loyal to the entire franchise but I am especially fond of the Star Trek: The Next Generation era and crew. I have all of the movies on VHS from this time period so it’s pretty cool that they are releasing the Star Trek: The Next Generation Motion Picture Collection on both DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow!

The following four films will be included in the set:

I really liked Generations even though it was pretty clear that William Shatner had aged and packed on some pounds since the storyline left off in The Undiscovered Country. I really didn’t care since I enjoyed seeing Captain Kirk pass on the film legacy to Captain Picard.

Still, of the four from the TNG crew, my favorite was First Contact. The eeriness of the Borg still creeps me out and I thought they did an incredible job with the special effects (that memorable entrance of the Borg Queen, when her head, shoulders, and steel spine are lowered by cables and attached to her body took five months!).
