Doublefine Productions has taken yet another leap into the world of technology with their release of the very SECOND edition of the Psychonauts soundtrack.
Why, might you ask, is that so special?
Doublefine Productions has taken yet another leap into the world of technology with their release of the very SECOND edition of the Psychonauts soundtrack.

Why, might you ask, is that so special? Because before this, there has NEVER been another game with TWO soundtracks for the same ONE game.

Alright… I’m sure that’s a lie. I’m sure there are plenty of other games out there that release more than on soundtrack cd. Heck, I’m sure there are some games have three or maybe even A MILLION soundtracks released.

In fact, a quick search on GameMusic dot com reveals that Final Fantasy XII has no less than 14 soundtrack cds associated with just that one game. Sure, it’s a bunch of nerdy music people who have recreated the heart wrenching tunes of the game, but there are 14 nonetheless.

Now that’s just crazy.

Don’t focus on him too hard… he might put you under hypnosis.

The first Psychonauts’ soundtrack is filled with music from the various levels of the game. Do you remember when you delved into the mind of the sexy levitating psychonaut teacher, Milla Vodello? In her mind of minds, she was a disco dancer and wasn’t afraid to show it. Perhaps you loved the music from that level so much, you may just wish to purchase the cd and listen to it over and over and over and over again on repeat until your mom comes down to your basement bedroom, kicks down the door and beats your head in with a two by four.

That’s a little over the top, I know, but you could still do that if you wanted.

Here’s a list of the songs from the first soundtrack:

1. The Meat Circus
2. Whispering Rock
3. Stay out of the Moonlight
4. Hagatha’s Home
5. Happy Flowers
6. The Lungfish Lair
7. The Milkman Conspiracy
8. Dr. Loboto’s Lab
9. Duel with the Critic
10. The Catwalk Phantom
11. March of the Inmates
12. Sasha’s Immaculate Mind
13. The Censors Unleashed
14. Black Velvetopia
15. The Wild Bull Run/El Odio
16. The Matador
17. Gloria’s Secret Garden
18. Bonita’s Tragic Muse
19. Bunk Time
20. Title and End Credits

Is he trying to levitate me? Probably. I know I would if I could.

The second Psychonauts’ soundtrack has all the music from the cutscenes throughout the game. You never know when you might need to hear that piece of cutscene music that filled your heart with the glee of a thousand howler monkeys. Oh, the very thought of it warms the cockles of my blackened and evil heart.

Check out the second soundtrack’s listings:

1. Coach’s Welcome – (2:30)
2. Bobby Zilch & Sasha – (2:04)
3. The World Is A Better Place – (1:01)
4. March of the Psychonauts – (2:43)
5. Lili Kidnapped – (2:02)
6. Was That A Dream? – (2:36)
7. Top O’ The Lungfish – (2:03)
8. Call Me Linda – (0:54)
9. Dr. Loboto’s Evil Plans – ((2:11)
10. Ah, The Theater! – (2:09)
11. Rise Up, Milkman – (2:33)
12. My Patron – (1:27)
13. Beauty And The Bull – (0:57)
14. Love Found And Lost – (1:54)
15. End of the Asylum – (3:19)
16. The Fathers – (2:47)
17. Summer’s End – (4:45)
18. Psychonauts Theme Medley (Remixed and Remastered) – (4:28)

So much music… so little time. Go… buy. Get down and boogie on home.

Of course I would post this two days AFTER Halloween. So, sue me. Jerks. I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO.

Okay… no I don’t. I’m a loser. But you love me anyways… Right? RIGHT?! I knew you did.

Anyways… according to Nucleosys (thanks K!) AND Adventure Gamers, you too can now hear the spookily eery noises of the wonderous adventure/thriller game, Scratches. In fact, Nucleosys, the wonderful people who developed the frightening game actually DID release it in honor of Halloween. Now I feel like a fool. But what’s new, right?

Now you can have some lovingly orchestrated sounds blasting out of your PCs speakers. Don’t blast them too loud, as I hear that you can actually cause death from loud noises. And wouldn’t that be something to be horrifically killed by a horror game’s soundtrack? That would not bad fun.

Are you wondering what the track listings are? Well, look no further, my frightening friends.

01. Their Lost Tale
02. A Tower among the Trees
03. The House, in Dust
04. What You Waited For
05. A Bump in the Night
06. Rainy Mystery
07. Sudden Hero
08. R’s Theme
09. Blackwood’s Adventures Sonata
10. It is Here
11. The Lurker
12. Not Alone
13. Where the Dead Might Lie
14. Frozen in Death
15. Desecrated Sorcery
