In this buddy cop style movie, Pegg is overachieving London officer Nicholas Angel. He’s actually a bit of a pain in the ass so it’s not surprising when, after being promoted to sergeant, he’s transferred to the hellish small town of Sandford.

Once there, he meets Danny Butterman (Frost) whose goal in life is to replicate the law enforcement action seen in Bad Boys II. Yeah, he’s pretty ridiculous but, oddly enough, he comes close. In fact, I think the action in Hot Fuzz was more believable than that in Bad Boys II.

Everything about Sandford seems run-of-the mill at first but it doesn’t take long for the town’s true nature to be revealed. Residents start dying and Angel sees it as an opportunity to show off his big-city skills. Of course, he’s got Danny as a sidekick so things don’t go as smoothly as planned.

It’s great that it’s now available on Blu-ray! Make sure you pick up a copy!

It’s hilarious and action-packed and shows the commitment of family and friendship. It’s really just a great film. Now, Blu-ray owners can enjoy it since it was released on the platform earlier this week.

In the film, Simon Pegg is Shaun, a slacker who, along with his best friend, Ed (Nick Frost), must save their friends and family when flesh-eating zombies attack their city. These two are such couch potatoes that it took them a ridiculous amount of time to even realize what is happening and I seriously laughed until I cried when they finally noticed that something was wrong. That whole scene is priceless.

Stephen King said that Shaun of the Dead is “a 10 on the fun meter and destined to be a cult classic” and I completely agree. If you haven’t seen this movie, you definitely need to pick up a copy.
