Today, Betty White turns 90. The last surviving Golden Girl, White doesn’t appear to be slowing down. On Monday, she was celebrated in a star-studded TV special on NBC — “Betty White’s 90th Birthday: A tribute to America’s Golden Girl.” And now, she’s about to premiere a new show Off Their Rockers — a senior citizen hidden camera show.

Congrats to Betty White on all her achievements, and Happy Birthday!

The group features Diddy along with band members (don’t call them backup singers) Dawn Richard and Kalenna. Most people would agree that less Diddy was more on Saturday as “Ass of the Floor” (feat. Swizz Beatz) was better than “Coming Home.”

The group’s debut album Last Train to Paris hits stores on December 14, 2010.

Robert DeNiro hosted SNL. And though the opening monologue wasn’t funny, DeNiro was pretty good throughout the show. His new Fockers movie — Little Fockers – will be in theaters on December 22, 2010. Check out the trailer from the film below.

Fey’s impression of Palin gained immense popularity during the 2008 Presidential Elections, in which Sarah was running for Vice President alongside senator John McCain.

When asked about returning and cracking out the sketch again, Tina responded, “It’s inevitable that we’ll try it, at least. We’ll see if it makes it to air.”

During the campaign, the SNL ratings increased pretty significantly. Tina even won an Emmy Award in September for it.

If they came make it work, I’d like to see a return!

Saturday Night Live: The Best of Amy Poehler will be released tomorrow and I’m thinking of picking up a copy. 

Among the sketches included on the DVD are those in which she portrays US Secretary of State and former First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton (I loved the episode when Clinton showed up during the impersonation), “Bronx Beat,” “the Dakota Fanning Show” and “Jo Jo The Valet.”

The DVD also includes funny moments from “Weekend Update” (with Seth Myers) and bonus features with audio commentary from Amy and Seth, as well as “Weekend Update outtakes,” photo gallery and two unaired sketches from dress rehearsals.

Michaela Watkins didn’t particularly stand out on her own but I thought that three of her regular skits were pretty funny.  You may know her for her portrayals of Barbara Walters from The View as well as Hoda Hotb of the Today show and I felt she did a very good job mimicking those ladies.  She also appeared on The  Weekend Update segment sometimes as a celebrity blogger who is addicted to Starbucks and says “bitch, pleeeease” (I actually say that all the time!). 

It’s too bad.  She told Entertainment Weekly: “What he (SNL creator, Lorne Michaels) said is he’s trying to get what’s best for him and best for me. He said it had nothing to do with talent. And I’m just going to go on that. That was his only explanation. He’s looking at the whole mix of the show and maybe he feels that what I bring would be better served on a sitcom,”

Meanwhile, I’m thrilled to see Casey Wilson go.  I don’t think she’s funny.  She overacts.  Her looks aren’t very versatile so it’s hard to believe her in a variety of characters and I hate her voice.  Wow.  I guess I’m being a little harsh and I’m not saying Casey should quit showbiz all together but I am happy she’s not on SNL anymore.

Comedians Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad will be replacing Watkins and Wilson.

A shake up in the cast isn’t the only change planned for the upcoming season (which premieres on September 26, 2009 with Megan Fox as the host).  Seth Myers had been manning the desk at the Weekend Update alone since Amy Poehler left but he’s going to be getting a co-anchor – Kristen Wiig.  I love her but I’m not sure she’s the right person for that segment but I’ll give it a chance.

He put the moustache and suit back on for Celebrity Jeopardy where Tom Hanks just suddenly appeared on the show as one of the contestants (he was up against Kathie Lee Gifford and, of course, Sean Connery).  There was a surprise addition to the skit a little later.

Ferrell also resurrected his parodies of George W Bush (who had a “moment” with Dick Cheney) and the ever-popular Harry Caray in addition to new and funny skits.

Will Ferrell will be appearing in Land of the Lost on June 5, 2009.  If you missed his return to SNL, you can watch full episodes on NBC.com.  In the meantime, you can watch this hilarious Celebrity Jeopardy skit.

I received a copy of Saturday Night Live: Best of Adam Sandler and I thought it would make a great prize for a giveaway!

The DVD is filled with memorable moments from Adam’s time on the show.  Remember characters like Cajun Man, Opera Man, Canteen Boy and Gap Girl?  You can relieve those skits all over again!

Michael Phelps continues his whirlwind, post-Olympics promotional tour around the United States. Poor guy: he hasn’t even been home to Baltimore since Beijing. Last Sunday he talked with music stars and presented at MTV’s Video Music Awards in Hollywood. I think he could have done a little better with his wardrobe choices, but what the heck, he’s used to the pool, not the red carpet. This Saturday, September 13, he’s hosting “Saturday Night Live” in New York City.

If Michael Phelps thought that he was going to come home after winning eight Gold Medals at the Beijing Olympics and relax (as he indicated after his last race), he was being slightly naive. Seemingly everyone wants to be seen with the new sport superstar. Just back in the United States for a few days, Phelps has already been scheduled to present at the Video Music Awards on September 7, appear on the “Jay Leno Show” on September 8, and to host Saturday Night Live for its season debut on September 13. He was also part of the group of Olympians that helped launch Tiger Woods’ new video game on Wednesday.
