This film follows the life of Donnie’s younger sister, Samantha Darko (played by Big Love’s Daveigh Chase), who is now 18 years old.  She and her friend, Corey, set off on a road trip to California (they are from Virginia) when their car breaks down and they are forced to wait in a small town until it is fixed.  While there, Samantha begins to have dreams that warn her about the end of the universe.

The reviews that I read for this movie were mixed, at best, and I haven’t actually seen it but I do find it hard to imagine that it could match or exceed the excellence of Donnie Darko.
