The Next Three Days, starring Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks and Liam Neeson hits theaters next Friday, Nov. 19.

Synopsis: Life seems perfect for John Brennan until his wife, Lara, is arrested for a murder she says she didn’t commit. Three years into her sentence, John is struggling to hold his family together, raising their son and teaching at college while he pursues every means available to prove her innocence. With the rejection of their final appeal, Lara becomes suicidal and John decides there is only one possible, bearable solution: to break his wife out of prison. Refusing to be deterred by impossible odds or his own inexperience, John devises an elaborate escape plot and plunges into a dangerous and unfamiliar world, ultimately risking everything for the woman he loves.

The stars hit the red carpet for the premiere of the Lion’s Gate film in New York City this past week. Below you can check out a scene from the film, as well as the trailer.

New “Robin Hood” Trailer

Robin Hood will hit theaters on May 14, 2010. I won’t lie to you. My first thought when I saw the trailer for this film was that the world really doesn’t need another movie about Robin Hood. I think Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was good enough to buy us another 10-20 years without another remake but I guess Ridley Scott disagrees with me.

The director is collaborating again with Russell Crowe with whom he had incredible success with Gladiator. Now, they are taking this legendary tale back to the big screen with a decidedly darker feel to a familiar story.

It’s unclear whether it will really be called Robin Hood but I do know that it’s going to tell the life of one of mythology’s most celebrated archers who is being relieved from his service in King Richard’s army against the French. After Richard dies, Robin heads to Nottingham where he falls for Lady Marion (Cate Blanchett), a spirited widow who is suspicious of Robin’s motives.

The town is suffering from corruption and is heavily oppressed by their nasty sheriff. In an effort to win over Marion, Robin “assembles a gang whose lethal mercenary skills are matched only by its appetite for life.”

On Blu-ray: “Gladiator”

Gladiator is one of those epic films that creates a massive buzz (and sweeps awards season) that eventually helps it take its place among the classics. It also helped catapult actors like Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix into stardom.

The film, which hit theaters back in 2000, follows the life of Maximus (Crowe) and well-loved and powerful Roman general who has become like a son to Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Despite the fact that the Emperor has a true heir, Commodus (Phoenix), he taps Maximus as his successor.

When Marcus Aurelius dies, things turn ugly quickly as Commodus seeks his revenge in an attempt to claim a throne that he believes is his. Tragically, Maximus and his family are sentenced to death but he suffers a far worse fate – he lives to see his wife and son murdered.

After being captured, Maximus is forced into the Gladiator games which seems to be the equivalent of a death sentence but the skills of the former general were underestimated. Fueled by a need to face Commodus, Maximus tries to stay alive so that he can look into the eyes of the man that ruined his life.

This great film is now available on Blu-ray so fans can finally own and enjoy it!
