The movie stars Dwayne Johnson (as he likes to be called now but he will always be “The Rock” to me) as cab driver, Jack Bruno, who gets pulled into a strange adventure when two teens, Sara (AnnaSophia Robb) and Seth (Alexander Ludwig) get in his car.  Instead of giving him an address, they tell him to “travel in that direction” and he does as he’s asked but soon finds himself being chased off the road.  Fortunately, his young passengers turn out to be aliens from another planet since Seth slips through the body of the cab and deflects the SUV that is following them.

The kids explain that the earth will be overtaken by aliens if they don’t find their crashed spaceship.  The situation makes Jack think of a scientist he met who actually believes in the existence of extra-terrestrials so he takes Seth and Sara to see Dr. Alex Friedman (Carla Gugino).  Before long, the foursome is battling a number of foes (including secret government agencies) in their effort to locate the space craft.

Sounds like it could be a good action-packed family-friendly movie.  I didn’t go to theaters to see it but I’ll definitely ask my kids if they want to check it out.  Here’s the trailer:
