Understandably, the reaction from Michael Jackson’s family has been mixed. While they are happy that Conrad Murray got the max, they are upset that he will soon be a free man once again … while Michael Jackson will never return.

And even though Conrad Murray got four years, legal experts say that he will serve less than half of that time. In California, their jails are so packed that non-violent offenders rarely do more than half of their sentence.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson. And enjoy your vacation, former doctor Conrad Murray.

Two years behind bars isn’t a laughing matter. Then again, killing Michael Jackson was uncool.

Judge Michael Pastor said that the doctor showed a “pattern of deceit and lies and that he is a “disgrace to the medical profession”.

Dr. Conrad Murray was hoping for probation but I think this was a fair decision by the judge. The evidence points to Dr. Conrad Murray holding a lot of blame for the early demise of Michael Jackson.

So far in the manslaughter trial, the prosecution is trying to prove that Dr. Conrad Murray was negligent in Michael Jackson’s death. The defense team’s strategy is to prove that Michael Jackson killed himself.

Personally, I don’t think the Michael Jackson suicide angle is going to work. The jury isn’t going to buy that.

It seems like it was just yesterday that Prince Jackson was a little toddler being hidden by his famous father. Today, he’s a teenager who is closing in on being a man. He’s still somewhat sheltered — but he has the genes to become a superstar over the next few years.

Don’t expect the Conrad Murray trial to be Prince Jackson’s big break, though. If he does testify, it is expected that the judge will clear the courtroom first.

According to reports, the Lady Gaga meat dress was put together by Franc Fernandez. It instantly became the most controversial dress at an MTV Video Music Awards show since Rose McGowan’s see-thru dress.

Whatever you may think, Lady Gaga’s meat dress entered the pop star into the category of the most memorable moments in MTV VMA history that includes the Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley kiss, the Puff Daddy and Sting performance, the Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera kisses, and the Kanye West and Taylor Swift fiasco.

The Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley kiss took place during the 1994 VMAs. That is the same year the two got married — approximately two years after they met. Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley got married in the Dominican Republic, however the love affair ended in divorce less than two years later.

Currently, Lisa Marie Presley is living in Britain with her husband and children. Michael Jackson of course died on June 25th, 2009 at the age of 50.

Unfortunately for the Niners, the win against the Cardinals came at a great cost. Starting running back Frank Gore broke his hip and is likely out for the season. Gore is arguably the best player on the team and was one of the few steady players this season for the up and down Niners.

For one week at least, the Niners were able to make up for Gore’s absence. Brian Westbrook had 136 yards and a touchdown and Anthony Dixon chipped in 54 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Troy Smith had 129 passing yards and a touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree.

Next week, the Niners travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers. Another win San Francisco could suddenly be a division-leading team.

According to reports, two of Michael Jackson’s children are scheduled to be accepting some awards for the Late King of Pop. They will be accepting some Lifetime Achievement awards for their father, who passed away over the summer from cardiac arrest.

Paris and Prince Michael Jr. are who will be doing the honors. His children were last seen in July of 2009 at his memorial service.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards will be held on January 31st in Los Angeles, California.

Though his death was tragic, there was some footage of Michael’s rehearsals that was put together and released for his fans under the title This Is It. The film has set the record for the highest grossing concert movie and documentary ever.

The movie made about $23 million in the US alone and was #1 at the box office. Now, the film is available for purchase on DVD today.

It received some criticisms from fans who thought Michael wouldn’t have wanted the video released. It’s a sticky subject, but I think Michael would have wanted his fans to celebrate him and see what the This Is It tour could have been like.

But, in the end, true wealth is built little by little, with prudent decisions, and by living within your means, rather than spending everything — and then some — on a lavish lifestyle.
