Someone needs to talk to Michael Cera about the dangers of being typecast before it’s too late since I think he’s making it pretty difficult for studios to see him as anything but the innocent, nerdy (but adorable) teen who is wise and virtuous but awkward when it comes to interacting with girls. Let’s see, there was Superbad, Juno and Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Now there’s Youth in Revolt which opens in theaters tomorrow.

Harold Ramis has enjoyed a lot of great success over the years with films like Groundhog Day, Caddyshack and, of course, the Ghostbusters movies so a lot of people had high hopes for Year One.
It all seemed to be perfect – a great writer, the comedic stylings of Jack Black and Michael Cera, and a decent plot. Unfortunately, critics and movie-goers weren’t bowled over by the finished product but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still worth watching!

Year One hits theaters this Friday and features the unlikely pairing of Jack Black and Michael Cera. I cannot decide if I am actually going to go through the trouble of seeing this movie on the big screen but I do admit that it’s a creative idea.
