In the late 1990s, Foxy Brown was at the top of her game. She released Ill Na Na in 1996, a platinum album that featured Jay-Z and Method Man. After Ill Na Na, she partnered with Nas, Nature and AZ to form The Firm. Her next solo album, Chyna Doll in 1999, also went platinum.

Since then, Foxy Brown’s career was been on the decline. Her records aren’t selling as well. She’s been in trouble with the law. Her looks haven’t been as smokin’. All in all, she’s not a factor in the hip hip world anymore.

There’s a skill, playfulness and even humor to their music so I’m looking forward to listening to their new material.  They worked really well together last time so I hope they have been able to recapture the magic again.

From what I’ve read, the album features collaborations with producer, Eric Sermon, Raekwon and my personal favorite, Ghostface Killah (Method was, of course, in Wu-Tang Clan with Raekwon and Ghostface).

The first singles from Blackout! 2 have been “A Yo” (released on March 31, 2009) and “Mrs. International” (released on May 5, 2009).
