<p>In case you were caught up watching Michael Phelps and the Olympics today, you might have missed (or forgot to watch) the opening games of the 2008-09 English Premier League season.  So what if there is soccer in the Olympics?  Yes, Major League Soccer is happening now in the U.S., but there&#8217;s just something about the EPL that is really special.</p>
<p>In the first day of matches, a few familiar names finished in the win column.  Two perennial favorites, Arsenal and Liverpool, each picked up shutout victories.  Arsenal received a goal in the fourth minute from Samir Nasri, which held up for the game winner against West Bromwich Albion.  Liverpool secured their 1-0 win over Sunderland after <strong>Fernando Torres</strong> found the back of the net.</p>
