On Tuesday, Redbox announced that they’ve agreed to a multi-year deal with Lionsgate. Redbox, the DVD kiosk company that has more than 15,000 locations across the United States, will now have better access to new releases from Lionsgate, in addition to titles that go directly to DVD.
Steve Beeks, the President and Co-COO of Lionsgate, said that he thought this arrangement was a win-win for both companies.

Lionsgate, regarded as one of the most successful U.S. businesses in the entertainment field, plans to eliminate a total of 45 jobs, according to multiple wire reports. To achieve that number, Lionsgate will not replace 18 openings and will terminate a total of 27 employees. After this round of job cuts, a total of 86 jobs will have been lost in the company since the start of 2008.
