NBC renewed Law & Order: SVU in April despite the fact that the show’s stars, Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni, had not signed on for next season.  I guess they were pretty sure that they could come to an agreement and it looks like their assumptions were right. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the return of the series stars, Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay, NBC has decided to go ahead and renew Law & Order: Special Victims Unit for an 11th season.

The announcement comes after the network engaged in some lengthy talks with Wolf Films (producers) and creator, Dick Wolf.  Meloni and Hargitay, who traditionally negotiate their contracts together (I’m guessing they want to keep things fair), only started talking with the network last week.
