What do you get when you slide LeBron James over to point guard?

You get 36 points, eight assists and a 10th straight win.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were forced to readjust their starting line-up and move James to the point before their game against the Miami Heat last night.

LeBron James picked up the slack at point against the Miami Heat last night.

James took over the point guard position because Mo Williams and Delonte West are recovering from injuries, and Daniel Gibson had to rush off to the hospital to be at his pregnant fiance’s side, as she was rushed to the emergency room for complications. (His fiance happens to be R&B singer Keyshia Cole).

“I knew I was going to have the ball in my hands a lot because I was the starting point guard or point forward, whatever you want to call it,” James said on ESPN.com. “Like Magic [Johnson]. I can go coast to coast and do a lot of things with the ball that point guards in this league can’t do.”

James scored 17 of his 36 points at the free throw line. He was able to drive the lane and draw fouls, while his All-Star counterpart Dwyane Wade only made it to the charity strip twice in the entire game. Gibson arrived in time to play in the second half, adding 12 points to another impressive win for the Cavs.

I don’t think it matters where you put James on the court, he can basically play any position and succeed. Even if you let him be the water boy, he’d still find a way to contribute and impact the game.

James has won the NBA conference player of the month three months in a row, and the Cavs have the best record in the entire league. He’s clearly on a mission, and fully prepared to do what he has to do in order to accomplish his goal. Can anyone say NBA Championship?

While I do agree that women need to be firm and decisive when in business, I don’t think that we should change our personalities or coping mechanisms just to level the playing field.

See the thing about it is that women who are businessleaders have to be 3 things:

focused – know what you want and where you want to go.

firm – make decisions and stand by them AND DON’T CHANGE.

consistent – do one thing, do it well and do it often.

There is no need to change who we are and how we deal with people. If you are consistent, people will associate that with excellent business skills.

No need to change who you are.

Keyshia Cole the R&B singer, the soul singer, the rapper, the artist, the businesswoman. The twenty-something Oakland, California native grew up on the hard side of the track but let that rough beginning make her the woman she is today. Keyshia is a serious businesswoman who launched her own record company with one rapper who she firmly believed in and sold her idea to her producer. When Keyshia was asked how was it that she could juggle all of the things she’s got going on and be so successful, she replied in a matter-of-fact fashion that she was “just doing what I gotta do because as a woman, for me to be taken seriously, I gotta do business the way a man would do it.”

The business world has long been primarily a man’s world where very few women could play and be taken seriously. Women were relegated to the office of secretary or errand girl. Being a CEO of a company was something that was considered absurd for females. Nowadays, women are CEO’s, CFO’s, corporate president’s and entrepreneurs. Women are definitely making their marks in the businessworld. Keyshia, like many other professional businesswomen, is signing contracts, making deals, hiring and firing staff all while producing and maintaining a product (or service) that keeps revenue coming in and investors happy.

Businesswomen are definitely a force to be reckoned with, but the question is…do you have to do business the way a man does just to be taken seriously? What do you think?

Come back tomorrow. I’ll tell you what I think.
