]]> Tomorrow, Frost/Nixon will be released on DVD and I plan to rent it.  The movie, which was nominated for five Academy Awards, recreates the events surrounding the now famous interviews between David Frost and former U.S. president, Richard Nixon.

After the Watergate scandal, British talk-show host David Frost (Michael Sheen) sits down to discuss the controversy with Richard Nixon (Frank Langella).   I was not alive yet and, I must confess, I have not done any research about these interviews.  I only know the basics so I’m really looking forward to seeing this historic event unfold on film.

The interviews between Frost and Nixon produced some of the world’s most memorable quotes.  This is the one that sent chills down my spine:

David Frost: Are you really saying the President can do something illegal?
Richard Nixon: I’m saying that when the President does it, that means it’s *not* illegal!
David Frost: …I’m sorry?

I agree that world leaders are elected officials but they are not above the law.  In fact, they should be the example that the laws are designed in a way that makes them reasonable to follow.  What a character!  I can’t wait to see this movie.  Check out the trailer:
