Every rap fan who listens to this album loves it. If you haven’t listened to it, you are doing yourself a disservice.

For some reason, Lil Wayne has kept his best work on other people’s albums. In 2011, he finally released some fire on his own album. Check it out.

Drake’s flow is nice, as usual, and the beat is dope. However, the big change to this track and a typical Drake song is that Drake’s lyrics are outstanding.

Here are some of the Drake “Headlines” lyrics:

The lyrics for Marvins Rooms are pretty weak, however. It’s a slow song and Drake doesn’t bust out much lyrical imagination … which is usually a strength of his.

Drake tweeted,”Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She’s finally mine. :)” 

Nicki tweeted, “Yes, its true. Drake and I tied the knot.”

However there is some speculation that it is a publicity stunt by the hip hop label-mates. Though Drake declared his love for Nicki in his single, “Miss Me” – the timing is suspicious. Drake has an album out and Nicki’s album is set to be released in the near future.

If it’s not a stunt, congrats to the happy couple. Maybe Drake can stop her from wearing outfits like this in public.

"I’m able to walk around, so I’m working very hard on the album," Drake told Billboard.com.  "I’ve been out of the scene for so long because I’ve been off my leg.  Sitting at home in your apartment and having a doctor come over every day and eating healthy and going to the gym — there’s not much of a rap album to be made off that. I have to get my inspiration and start seeing things and going to dinners and meeting people again and just finding stories to tell for this album. I’m trying to make something timeless."

Drake is planning to release his single "Shut it Down" (a collaboration with The-Dream) in January.  He described it as "an R&B song … It’s sexy. It’s slow, but there’s an energy to it. I rap on it. Me and Dream both sing on it. It’s cool."

"It’s like an anthem for (women) to be at your house with your girlfriends getting ready, what you listen to before you get (to the nightclub). It’s a song for the non-famous woman to make her feel special and just to let you know that even though I’m up here and have the option to mingle with these ‘upper-echelon’ women, if you will, that sometimes I’d rather be with the girl from back home or a student or a girl that works at Walmart. They don’t have to be a star or rich or anything like that; that’s kind of the gist of the song. It’s an empowering song for all women."

I guess we’ll just have to wait to hear it sometime in the new year.  I’m looking forward to listening to what Drake has to offer on a full-length album.

According to MTV, Kanye West offered to shoot another video for the single “Best I Ever Had” but Drake actually turned him down.  “That career move was very important to me,” Drake explained.  “We’ve done such a great job of building it all up. It’s kind of like people were getting this impression of me that I’m never gonna make a mistake. I’m not made of Teflon. I’m gonna do things for myself sometimes, as opposed to what people want me to do.”

Drake went on to explain that he thought the video was appropriate since it reflected his lyrics:  “If you listen to the song, I’m not saying the most graceful thing in the world. It’s not the most heartfelt song.  I say some pretty wild things in regards to women in the actual song. When me and Kanye were in the studio working on a song for Big Sean, we were talking about it. We saw a comedic element to it. I felt that the climate in the world right now, everything in the world is so serious all the time, my life is serious, I just wanted to laugh, instead of taking myself too serious as the heartthrob and walking hand-in-hand into the movies and taking my shirt off. I felt it’s not that time for me yet. Or maybe never. I’m a very multifaceted person. One thing I told ‘Ye is, ‘I really want to act. I want to act in this video.’ ”

He learned a lesson, though.  As Kanye pointed out, you’ve got to go all the way with something if you’re going to say it’s a “funny” video and this seemed half-serious, especially when you consider what Drake is saying.  “I guess one thing I didn’t consider is what the song personally means to a lot of women,” Drake said. “To those women, I apologize. I do apologize. My intention wasn’t to put anyone down. It was to make them laugh. I wanted people to see something visually different.”

The song refers to the “best he’s ever had” in a sexual context but the video portrays Drake as the coach of a female basketball team whose uniforms are absolutely ridiculous. 

Canadians might watch this video with a little confusion since, to us, he’s Aubrey Drake Graham.  Under that name, he became well known as basketball star, Jimmy Brooks, on Degrassi: The Next Generation.  His storyline was really intense after a classmate shot him and left him disabled.  

Anyway, I’m happy to see him doing well.  The 22-year-old actor was signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment label last month.

The video contains explicit lyrics that might be unsafe for work and/or offensive to some people.
